History
The Lake Albert Foundation was founded in 2015 in the Netherlands, together with partners from the Democratic Republic Congo (DRC) and Uganda. In its early days, the main focus was on innovative agri-innovation and cross-border dynamics of DRC, Uganda and South-Sudan. Since 2020, the focus has shifted to the highlands of Zombo district in Uganda, about 10 km from the border with DRC. In Zombo, the focus has broadened from innovative agricultural practices to combining regenerative agriculture and biodiversity enhancement with improved food production.
Some example of projects and workshops conducted or funded by the Lake Albert Foundation:
- • Workshop on sustainable development in the Ugandan/South Sudanese cross-border area.
