Regenerative agriculture

The Lake Albert Foundation works with local farmers to improve management of natural resources, such as water and soil, by providing training and resources that promote sustainable land use and conservation. Examples of activities are: setting up syntropic agriculture systems (agroforestry) on degraded land, developing different compost systems, reduced use of chemical inputs by providing knowledge and alternatives, erosion control measures, etc. Improved soil and water quality leads to higher and more sustainable yields, reducing the need to cut down more forests and cultivate in the valuable wetlands in the region.
