Meet the board of the Lake Albert Foundation:

Cecile van Wezel - Chair

Her personal passion for and interest in East Africa - where she lived and worked for a number of years and where she frequently travels since 1989 - made Cecile to decide to become a board member of the Lake Albert Foundation. According to her, too little has changed for the good in East Africa since then. In the board, she hopes to contribute to the urgently needed food security and the well-being of the people by revitalisation of land and nature.

Olivier de Schaetzen - Secretary

As a board member of LAF, Olivier has found another pathway to which he can contribute to his passion in life. Supporting the natural environment and enabling the transition towards regenerative systems sits at the core of Olivier’s work. With a background in architecture, environmental sciences, and entrepreneurship, he is used to design and build solutions for a world where environmental, economic and social well-being are inseparably linked.

 

Jeroen de Klein - Treasurer

Jeroen is an environmental scientist. He studies and educates students in water quality of lakes, rivers and wetlands. The focus is restoring natural processes to create sustainable aquatic ecosystems. Furthermore he is a passioned carpenter, building furniture for other people. By  joining the board of LAF he hopes to contribute to the integration of nature inclusive farming and restoration of wetlands in Uganda
